Al-Warithun Teens Madrasa
‘Verily the scholars are the inheritors of the Prophets; the prophets do not bequeath dinārs or dirhams but they bequeath knowledge’ [Hadith]
The term al-warithun is an Arabic word that means ‘the heirs’ or ‘the inheritors’ and the teens madrasa has been aptly given this name to inspire the next generation of young people to take from the Prophetic inheritance of knowledge and guidance.
There has never been a more important time in recent history where young people feel so lost, confused, and disconnected from their religion, tradition and values. The madrasa aims to fill this void and remove this confusion via structured weekend classes with qualified teachers.
We sincerely believe that our youth deserve much better resources and access to role models in a pivotal stage in their life to discuss pertinent issues that they are facing. Our hope is that the madrasa can give young people the instruction, guidance and role models they deserve so that they in turn can become the leaders of tomorrow.
The Curriculum
The Madrasa is a 3 year programme, open to both boys and girls, that aims to produce students who are literate in Fiqh, Aqeedah, Tasawwuf, Prophetic biography, Quran, Supplications, Islamic history, develop a good general understanding of the contemporary world and improve their social and communication skills.
To do this we have devised a curriculum that brings together theoretical subjects alongside practical ‘skills’ and confidence building exercises.
