Open Community Iftar 2023

Ramadan is a time of spiritual upliftment, and many people also enjoy communal events that allow them to feel the benefits of the brotherhood and sisterhood that Islam encourages. In this spirit, Saeed Institute ran their first Open Iftar, which was open to families from the whole community. This was a ‘bring a dish’ event, where food was served by the Institute and attendees also brought dishes to share. We set up two buffet stations for men and women and had a Ramadan crafts activity set up for children. We were delighted to welcome numerous new faces and Muslims from all parts of the community.

Iftar was preceded by some collective remembrance and a reminder by Shaykh Siddiq Mitha and guest-speaker Tahir Anwar. Talha Hafezi, one of our trustees, also took to the stage to deliver praise of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). We thoroughly enjoyed hosting this iftar and look forward to bringing the community together at more events and courses in the future.
